BrassTacks is a private security management consulting firm. The founder of BrassTacks, Mr. Zaid Hamid, along with being a professional security consultant, is also a distinguished scholar and researcher of defence and strategic studies. He holds a passionate interest in Pakistan's national interests and security, and is working on multiple initiatives for the reconstruction of our national unity and cohesion.
The News 1 BrassTacks program, aired every Sunday night at 8:00, is one such effort to educate our public awareness on matters of national security, and inspire a positive message of hope, as well as suggesting concrete counter measures.
BrassTacks has launched a dedicated website www.brasstacks.pk around the activities of our Think Tank, and to make the archives of the program and our other research available to the general public, as well as create a community forum to discuss and brainstorm solutions to our problems.
BrassTacks also has an apprenticeship program for students of IR, Political Science and Defence/Strategic studies related disciplines. Interested students must meet the following qualifications:
- Must have passion to serve the mission and not just for a job though we will offer minimal honorarium in the begining.
- Must be willing to work in a team beyond the call of duty without any ego issues.
- Should be good in Urdu and English -- both reading and writing.
- Must be good in computer skills.
